Armenia belongs to the oldest, meanwhile small nation. Perhaps this fact makes us try to restore, merge all of our dignity and immodestly puff them up. That is probably part of all minorities. Scattered around the globe, our fellow citizens, not only got introduced to a different culture, but made a significant contribution to it.
Today it is hard to imagine the art of Russia without Aivazovsky, Vakhtangov, Simonov, Aram Khachaturian, Michael Tariverdiev ... America without Ruben Mamoulian, Arshile Gorky, William Saroyan ...France without Henri Troyat, Henri Verneuil, Charles Aznavour ... Georgia and Ukraine without Sergei Parajanov ... Italy without Gregorio Shiltyan...
This list with dignity can be supplemented with filmmaker Armen Ronov. Creative pioneering of the director and artist Armen Ronov led him to pictorial art.
Studying in Florence with a private painter on the art of drawing and illustration, design and construction of artistic images A. Ronov deeply understood the expressive means of graphs, contour lines, strokes, color spots, which form the image contrast or nuance ratio. The possibility of a laconic, sharp pointed expression and the ability to respond quickly to the synthesis of painting with cinema became the key to unlocking the image in Ronov’s works.
A term Lionello Venturi used- "absolute artistic value", the brightness of characteristics with an apology for the "absolute freedom of expression" of the artist will never lose its meaning and significance.
This is not surprising. In thinking about the film, art, history or “contemporaneity” more often a "lyrical hero" arises- the creative "me" of the filmmaker Armen Ronov actively articulating his positions.
Longing for Armenia - a number of canes from the branches of cherries, similar to a duck's beak. I was immediately fascinated by the irrepressible effort directed by the artist Armen Ronov bestow upon me the most touching motive of the people he knew. The motive of love of country that made tremble in the "Quest for the Promised Land, Armenia" and suffer the air.
"The Armenian warrior of light" was turned into a prayer, almost sobbing, that these characters have settled in my mind, where they were collected by the vines in the garden of my childhood.
